The heart has reasons reason cannot understand.

In the end, we will conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, we will understand only what we are taught.

Fight off folly with understanding;
turn from the ways of your desire —
and through heart’s wisdom take the path
of God — in your secret hour.

Everybody needs to be understood. And out of that comes every form of love.

Can you not see how God coined a similitude: A good word is as a good tree, its root set firm, its branches in heaven,
Giving its fruit at every season by permission of its Lord? God coined the similitudes for humanity in order that they might reflect

If we admit that our Creator made us reasonable beings, we ought, of course, to believe that all the truth which is necessary for our belief is not only reasonable, but reducible to our understandings.
