Another great resource from Fetzer Institute are these printable cards to start forgiveness conversations. Before many of us are ready to make the decision to ask for or to offer forgiveness, we usually have some resistances to clear and sense to make. We want to know what forgiveness means to others we trust and perhaps what forgiveness means for people we’re learning to trust. Given the amount of suspicion and mistrust in society at large, and the number of grudges and sharp resentments, we have a lot of conversations to have about forgiveness and what it means, preparing ourselves for that commitment.
Before we can do the emotional work of forgiveness, many of us have to first make a decision. These conversation starters help prepare us for turning in the direction of asking and offering forgiveness, making and accepting amends, reconciliation, and restorative justice.
