Evening Prayer June 8
How easy it is to grow shy after our heart’s been hurt, after rebuff or even simple misunderstanding! Courageous Love help us grow bold again — bold enough to risk faithfully, to make amends and to forgive. Strengthen us enough to live responsibly for what we do that matters, for good and ill, and for what we have not done that mattered, for good and for ill. Grant us songs of courage and stories that lead us back to try again, to keep on the rough and troubled needful way, to stay steadfast in our love and steady in building anew a world of mercy and a world of peace. Amen.
Morning Prayer June 4, 2012
Let me grow deep with reverence and reach wide with mercy, flower in thanksgiving and fruit with love. Let me join my voice to the great song of hoping and my efforts to the great work of healing. Let my life be a prayer, through word, through thought, through deeds, joining with others in weaving goodness, answering the Holy’s call with every fiber and every thread made and woven in love. Amen.
Evening Prayer June 2, 2012
Steadfast love stretches us, challenges us, changes us. Wisdom teach us of the beauty in imperfection, to learn from the challenges we face now, to lean on faith and hope as we risk faithfully for goodness and with steadfast love. Help us help one another, stranger, neighbor, kin and friend. Let us together grow a more generous and more merciful way, a way of where disagreement and discord need not result in violence or hardened hearts. Instead, help us appreciate well each others’ differences, what we can know as gifts and what we do not understand or even like. Let us grow steadfast and loving, through the challenges and the changes, the difficulties and the celebrations, and together build a more generous and merciful way. Amen.
