Your best work is a gift. Of course your work can be improved, but it is a gift first. Your generosity is more important than your perfection.

When a person with a disability does something that we don’t expect from them, we are reminded of the most fundamental religious idea, that each and every person is created b’tzelem Elohim, in God’s image. It is amazing than in the disability itself we see the beauty and wonder of God’s creation and realize that ‘imperfection’ is not a divine creation but a human one.

You cannot run away from a weakness. You must sometimes fight it out or perish; and if that be so, why not now, and where you stand?

If we Unitarian Universalists have made any progress on issues of gender, sexual identity, race – or problems of simply living together as families and friends – it has begun with the acknowledgement that we will screw up and we will need forgiveness…Forgiveness is not one act. It is a relationship.

When I look over my life, I find no disappointment and no sorrow I could afford to lose

We are all imperfect. We can not expect perfect government.

The point is not to have a perfect life and realize every expectation…The heart of our journey is to awaken to this spirit within
