Learning to Work In A Collaborative Age
Okay, I grew up with New Games or Non-Competitive Games. Mark me as an Xer. Still, I had years and years of education - especially higher education - that taught me individual winning wasn’t just a good thing, but everything. I am now calling horseflies on those horseflies, because that way of being not only disensouls my vocation - the ministry - and the ability of faith communities to work together, it is absolutely the wrong set of skills for healing and restoring this world. Social media doesn’t work that way, either, despite the success movies that suggest it does. Social media is fundamentally collaborative, about working together to create something better than any one of us could do separately. So let’s learn those skills! Parachute dancing anyone?
